Job title: Public Realm Supervisor

Contract: Permanent – 40 hours per week, 9am-5pm, (with availability to work evenings and weekends as required), flexible working considered.

Salary: SCP 29-32 (£18.40ph-£19.90ph) dependent on experience.

Location: Based at Morecambe Town Hall

Deadline: 25 September 2023 (or ongoing depending if suitable candidate found prior to, or following, deadline)

We are looking for a brilliantly organised Public Realm Supervisor to join our small team here at Morecambe Town Council.

This is a great opportunity for someone who shares our values and believes in harnessing the power of working together to make a meaningful difference to people’s lives and communities.

It’s an exciting time to be joining the Council. In the last year, we’ve been the first local authority in Lancashire to achieve Quality Council status, becoming a leading deliverer of arts and culture in Morecambe, and securing a district-wide contract that will see us undertake a strategic lead for service delivery on behalf of Lancashire County Council in the future.

We’ve restructured the team to make our organisation more dynamic, efficient and effective. This role is crucial in that new direction. You’ll be responsible for leading the organisation’s public realm function, managing all aspects of open spaces, and contributing to our ambitious plans. You’ll work collaboratively with our staff, residents, associates, and partners.

The ideal candidate will have strong management skills, enabling them to support and work closely with the Environment Committee. They will be a skilled self-starter capable of multitasking and working efficiently to deliver the ambitious work of the Council.

If you have the skills and experience to help us deliver our work, we’d love to hear from you. This is a diverse role, so it may be that you are much stronger in some areas than in others. If this is the case we would still like to hear from you so please contact us for more information or an initial discussion.
