MC19 ATTRACTIONS & EVENTS

Attractions and events at the 2019 Morecambe Carnival take place on Morecambe Central Promenade. The carnival site is open from 10am on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th August 2019.

The Morecambe Carnival site is arranged into different zones to help you find your way around. You can ask for directions and further info at any of our info point booths where our volunteers will be happy to help.

BAY ARENA

Located on the Central Promenade – adjacent to Northumberland Street.

MC19 Main Stage
Saturday Show 7:00pm
Sunday Show: 3:00pm
A fantastic line up of artists playing both Saturday and Sunday!
Entry is FREE, there are no tickets or passes – just come along and enjoy the music!
Individual performance times for all acts coming soon.

Axe Throwing and Fencing
Saturday Only
Hosted by our very own local Lonsdale Scouts come test your axe and sword skills!

Circus Skills with Shooting Stars Circus
Saturday Only
Try your hand at learning all kinds of fantastic circus skills with Mr Boomhead and the Shooting Starts Circus.
Free to attend.

Donkey & Train Rides
All Weekend

Take a ride up and down the Morecambe Promenade on our friendly Donkeys or Mini Train – enjoy the view!

Bay Arena Bar

Enjoy the sounds of the Main Stage with a drink at the Arena Bar.

Arts & Crafts Stalls

Indulge your artistic and shopaholic side with arts and crafts from all over the area.

PROMENADE EVENTS

Events and attractions taking place along the Promenade and on the Beaches

MC19 Flower Power Parade
Sunday from 1pm
Morecambe Promenade

The centre piece of the Morecambe Carnival. Parade entries of all descriptions from motorised floats of all sizes to marching bands to wheelbarrows will be parading down Morecambe Promenade showcasing the best of Morecambe. Come a cheer on the parade!

Ospreys Skydive Display
Saturday 10th – 3:45pm ETA
Clocktower Beach Promenade
The amazing Ospreys are diving in on Morecambe Carnival once again. You will be able to see them in the skies over Morecambe on Saturday afternoon and be sure to head to the Clocktower Beach Promenade to see them come in for spectacular landing.
Please note that the beach landing area will be closed prior to the display for the safety of the divers and visitors. This event is weather dependant.

Sandcastle Competition
Saturday 10th

Eric Morecambe Statue Beach
What amazing sandcastle creation will you come up with? Compete in teams with family and friends to out build everyone else – Prizes to be won! ENTER FOR FREE NOW

Fireworks Finale

After the MC19 Main Stage comes to a close the skies will light up for a spectacular firework finale to The 2019 Morecambe Carnival.

Returning due to popular demand the comedic Circus Sensible will be delighting all ages with their Big Top Shows all weekend long. Free to attend.

Wildflowers & Hedgerows Marquee

This year we are focusing our efforts on creating wildflower sites and bringing back much depleted hedgerows, both of which are essential to ensure a future for bees, butterflies and other pollinators, birds, insects, small mammals and other wildlife. Seaside entertainment veteran Trevor Cooke returns to Morecambe Carnival with a huge line up of local singers, musicians and entertainers on the EDF Energy Local Legends Stage.
